The Members of Holy Trinity Cathedral have filled 105 Shoe Boxes for Operation Christmas Child. Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, founded by Franklin Graham. Shoe boxes are wrapped and filled with personal and fun items for each child bringing the love of Jesus to them. The boxes are sent to needy children around the world. Last year our boxes went to Tanzania and the Ukraine. In January we should find out where they went this year.
Members of our Parish filled 38 boxes which were placed on the Altar and blessed in May. The women completed the project and will deliver 105 boxes to the collection point in Millsboro. Last year, our first year to do the project, our goal was 50 boxes and we filled 61. This year we aimed for 100 boxes and filled 105. To quote Franklin Graham “Every shoe box offers an opportunity to share the Good News of the Savior with a hurting child.”
