Ancient Words Alive for Today

Romans 8:26-27 In the same way, the
Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not
know what we ought to pray for, but the
Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans
that words cannot express. And he who
searches our hearts knows the mind of the
Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the
saints in accordance with God’s will.

Prayer Corner

THE HOLY SPIRIT

Before we even begin to pray, we need to prepare by
asking the Holy Spirit to reveal what God’s will is for the
prayer need or request. He gives us a “sixth sense,” a way
to look at things through God’s 20/20 lenses, He can
remove our spiritual cataracts so that we can distinguish
the invisible world from the visible. The Counselor shows us
how to prepare our prayers, uncovering the basic need,
and to go to our advocate Jesus, who brings them before
God’s mercy. The Spirit can also show us our own blockages
and bondages that keep our prayers from being
effective. When Jesus puts a prayer concern on our hearts,
it is time to ask The Helper for a spiritual revelation so the
miracle can come. “’Not by might nor by power, but by
my Spirit,’ says the Lord” Zechariah 4:6.

Personal Corner

Father Joseph Trollinger

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ
Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in
advance for us to do.” Father Joseph and his wife
Regina have been involved in the charismatic
movement since 1977, being introduced to it in
Virginia. One of his life verses is Ephesians 2:10 and his
desire is simply to carry out the work of Jesus and His
faithful apostles through the empowerment of the
Holy Spirit. His recent Wednesday night teachings
and Sunday preachings are focused on acquainting
us with the Counselor, a.k.a. the Helper, the Paraclete,
the one who intercedes for us, guides us by his
spiritual power, and shows us God’s plans “to prosper
us and not to harm us, to give us a hope and a
future” Jeremiah 29:11. Taste and see on June 5.

School of Healing Prayer

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to
preach good news to the poor… to proclaim freedom for the
prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the
oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor” Luke 4:18-19.
This is the Mission of Holy Trinity’s Healing Ministry since God birthed it
in 2005. The same Holy Spirit that anointed Jesus is given to us, His
children, to continue His ministry of salvation and healing. It is only
through the Holy Spirit that we can do His work in praying for those
to receive His healing love and freedom! Holy Trinity’s Healing Prayer
Ministry is made up of a dedicated group of Prayer Ministers who
have completed the School of Healing Prayer, which is offered
annually. We offer prayer stations each Sunday and prayer by
appointment for those desiring a longer period of being “soaked in
God’s healing love” through the laying on of hands and prayers. We
listen, love and lift you to God’s Throne of mercy and grace, serving
you in the power of the Spirit and the anointing of Jesus the Healer.
He wants to bless YOU!

Teaching Corner

On the Holy Spirit: Father Larry

We are creatures of power, dependent on it whether it is
physical or spiritual power. Without either, we will be fruitless.
On the Day of Pentecost the Lord turned on the power for
His Church with the promised baptism of the Holy Spirit. If we
are to be filled with this power in our lives today, we must 1.
make ourselves available to the Spirit, taking the focus off
ourselves and our own agenda, 2. ask God for the infilling;
he longs to fill us, 3. keep on being filled with the Spirit; it’s
not a one-time or even once-a-day occurrence, and 4. be
careful not to put out the Spirit’s fire. We pour cold water on
the Spirit’s fire when we operate our lives outside of the
God’s will and attempt to conduct our lives in our own
energy. The power of the Holy Spirit is transforming. It frees us
from the self-concern that keeps us from truly loving God
and strengthens us to love others as never before.
